They might be but the result was the same. The exact hot route was called multiple times for no benefit but incompletions and picks.

in MFN 1 Denver handled my blitz like a pro, and thier WR R.Smith lit my grade A cornerbacks up with alot of short routes. Nothing special, except a few extra blockers. Even with a slow QB

Maybe not a spread offense but effective vs a heavy blitz.

When In that same league ATL threw eight interceptions vs. The same defense. The spread offense cold be to blame alittle.

TEs and backs are the players that give time on the blitz for quick passes. Even ATLs QB Smiths 91 speed did not help him with alot of weapons.

It is if the QB should see more options if there are more options to begin with. Not just who is in his line of sight or where the blitz is from.

When Denvers QB Shaw was pretty quick to release the ball as he had no speed to create extra throwing lanes, and fewer recievers to choose from.

Its was if he picked me apart with many well timed short throws vs. The blitz. Though in 75 i feel my older QB takes that sack alot more no matter the formation. Like the OP, but that was 3wr i think

You mean it's there in the code, but it only happens in the game with certain plays. The only time I see this happen is with a few select plays out of the 113 set where the QB throws an immediate dart to the slot WR who is running a slant. (I can dig up examples if you want, but I don't really want to.)

I've only seen this happen when a QB and team have a proficient knowledge of a play, which we've discussed ad nauseam is too difficult to achieve. My team in 19 has run certain plays over 300 times in game situation and barely has 75% play knowledge after multiple years.

The real kicker though is that these quick slant throws are subject to the same penalties as any other under pressure throw and are more likely to be picked off than completed.

So not only does this happen infrequently, it's a hindrance to teams.



Also, "infrequent" is a vague and absurd understatement. If the QB makes the throw almost every time, this is an infrequent flaw. When the QB rarely makes the throw, it signals incompetence in game development.
