Injury frustration

I've played a lot of sport management sims and this has by far the most injuries. I know they are random but what can I do to minimize the risk? Special teams in particular seem injury prone. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Some of my teams seem to remain relatively injury free, others have half a dozen serious injuries as well as the probables. I know a lot of people on here treat probables as not injured but JDB has said playing a probable increases the risk of further injury so I avoid playing them where I can.

The almost complete randomness is what I find so frustrating. I've tried a few different things regarding conditioning, number of players per position on depth chart, position on ST's, to no avail. Teams with poor injury record still get more than my other teams.

While playing a probable player does increase his injury potential, I would still treat them as uninjured.

Main factors are conditioning and fatigue, but there is of course a random factor too.

Compared to the NFL, there are actually fewer injuries in this game. There are numerous star players out for the season in the NFL. That rarely happens here. Questionable players play most of the time and probably players play almost all of the time in the NFL. That is how I treat them in this game as well.

I honestly think compared to the NFL injuries in this game are low. Every week in the NFL you are hearing about 3-5 players being put on injured reserve and lost for the season.

I will rarely put a player on IR unless its the end of the season because just because it says out doesn't mean he wont start getting healthy immediately.

You just need to make sure your playing with a deep depth chart. I will put many players on the depth chart out of position to cover just in case I get injuries just so they do have a little edge in experience.

To me I like the challenge of having to game plan through injuries

I agree with Morbid here. Injuries add an interesting dynamic to the game and their frequency seems fair. I've been on both sides of that coin before. I can't wait for that new blowout AI to rollout. It was stressful watching my star RB get carry after carry after carry in a blowout game in the 5th quarter with playoffs just two games away. Once we can protect the starters in non-critical situations i'll be 100% satisfied.

No wonder you get so many injuries if your'e playing 5 quarters!

I don't think it's really fair to compare the injuries in MFN to the injuries in the NFL due to the fact that NFL teams have much greater control over their rosters, playing time, etc., than we do.

I haven't complained about injuries, but I sure would not want to see them increased, especially considering our very limited ability to control anything that could increase/decrease the likeliness of them happening.

Had to happen, my HB Mike Hunt is out for 12 weeks and there is NOTHING even close available to replace him. Had this been the NFL I could have picked something at least serviceable.
