Playbook and Game Plan changing in the off season?

Having played 2 weeks of my team's new season, a number of things appear to have changed during the off-season that I can't explain.

Firstly, I have made zero changes to either my game plan or my playbook since the end of the last season.

In last year's 3 playoff games, I ran the ball 37 times (64 total plays), 39 times (68 plays total) and 29 times (67 plays). This season, I ran the ball 22 times (64 plays) in a 3 point loss and 29 times (67 plays) in a 40 point blow out win. I may be wrong, but I feel my game plan has been shifted to be more passing orientated, particularly on first down. This is much more of a sight thing from watching games, but it really does feel that way.

My team have also begun to run a number of plays I know haven't selected. On offence, I have both toss and FB runs selected now, neither of which I will have picked as I believe they rarely work. If I'm running, my RB is doing it and he's going near or through the line. On defence, I have a number of defensive zone plays selected for my CBs. I know for certain I haven't done this either, my CBs play an exclusive man defence on the outside.

During the off-season, our league switched (like most) to the new engine. No idea if this was a factor.

During the off-season, I hired a new DC. My OC hasn't changed. No idea if this was a factor either.

Any idea what could have happened? Any idea what a fix could be to revert my settings? I don't think I saved either my game plan or my playbook as I never needed to. I only have 1 team so didn't need to save and transfer across. Any help is greatly appreciated, my team just doesn't feel like my own right now.

Head Coaches are the only ones that determines your playbooks. OC and DC are irrelevant.

That's what I thought but figured I'd mention it just in case. I offered for a HC but he declined and I kept the same one I had, so no changes on that front.

Yes, after having more time to look, everything has changed. One sure sign is that when I look at my offensive game plan and look at the personnel, every formation is set evenly to 9, which I know isn't correct because a) some formations were weighted significantly higher than others and b) some formations were set to 0 as I know I have no plays selected in my playbook for them.

This is a bit of a killer for me, honestly. After 3 years trying to learn the game, I'd settled on something I was happy with and I'd just managed to win a Championship, which I really did think was beyond my team right now.

The only silver lining is that my rules are still there, so at least my defence is somewhat intact if I can just fix my defensive playbook.

JDB, any ideas? Struggling here :-/

good luck to you either way you go about it.

I have had mine reset on me for various reasons. The oddest, i believe was a result of a tanker playing in our league and his gameplan was reset the game i had played him. I had assumed my team got the reset also because we played them.

Other than that it should be explainable, and more i am wondering why if a game plan took you three years .....why not save it?

Talk about screwed i had logged in from a different device once. Some block was on that prevented me from logging in. I think my freinds computer had something on it that disguises IP adresess, but he did not tell me untill after. (Yes thats real!)

I did not understand what was going on. So, i tried logging back in on the original device.

That device was reset and the auto save password lost. My lack of computer skills sent me to make another account where i only learned i could not recover my original account.

For 3 weeks i watched my teams lose games on auto pilot. AI Coaching signing, AI FA bidding and resigns. The drafts got ruined in all of my leagues and the topper was the only way i could recover the teams was to snatch them back up before anyone else.

Not fun but i got over it.

The AI will reset your gameplan only if you go into a game without enough plays selected, or have too many plays selected/scout plays selected.

Hmmmm, not sure then.

I don't normally fill my playbook on either side of the ball, but I still have 30+ plays on each.

I didn't think you could select more than 10 plays to scout as a prompt appears stopping you, so not sure I've done that either.

Looks like I'm just gonna have to take the hit on this one and do it all again when I get a chance

I try to always have 40 off / 30 def, but how many is too few? I've never seen a message about that.

You must have at least 30 plays in your gameplan (offense + defense), with at least one on offense and one on defense.
