Fix this effing thing. The GL defense that I'm running should cover the WR4, which in this case is the FB2. Instead, the guy covering the WR4 stands and stares at the FB1 that is pass blocking. Basically, this is your code design in a nutshell: https://mfn67.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/927#171103

I should have to create a bunch of BS rules to cover up every exploit in the game. Some things should just work out of the box.

Everything can't be perfect you know? This game is V 0.4, not even close to a version 1 release yet. I don't know why, but to me it sounds like you are criticizing JDB in a negative way more than giving constructive criticism. I can't imagine coding in this game being easy, let alone every single offensive/defensive play working perfectly in sync every time.

While I do agree this issue needs to be fixed, keep in mind that there are many more issues that JDB is hard at work on and try to keep the criticism 'positive'.

In due time, it will be fixed. Just got to have patience.

Before I get labeled a hypocrite, here's my team doing it: https://mfn19.myfootballnow.com/gamecenter/view/2766#563769

I like this play because it targets the TE underneath, but I may have to pull it because it's really unfair.

I'm critical because the game is beta. JDB eventually wants to make money on the game. If the product was released today with these known exploits no one would buy it. Should we keep telling him good job now and let him sink his product? Is his ego that fragile? What will happen on release?

The other issue that I have is is that we talk about this being a hobby, we talk about the game being difficult to code, we talk about the game being beta, we talk about playing it for free, and we ignore the ads and the donation request. I understand that running a server is expensive and JDB is making no money from the ad revenue or the donations. But he's getting something infinitely more valuable at this stage of the game design - free labor. He doesn't have to hire anyone to QA his product because he has a QA team that is testing for free or paying him to test the game. When this game reaches release, he will have profited from everyone that has played and commented on the game during this beta stage.

I also feel that serious exploits need to be addressed more quickly, especially when the inline game documentation doesn't match the action of the code. You not only break user expectations, you lose the confidence of the user.

you do realize that people do buy games that have flaws in the game yet they only find out until they buy it then play it and after awhile they will see the bugs and what not in the game so i really doubt if this game was product was released people wouldnt buy it.

heck people still play NFL 2K games , Ea Sports ncaa football series and other american football games that are not madden .

SO if this game was released people would pick it up in the hopes it would be light years better than MADDEN.

This is a coverage assignment bug. I have seen it under a few combinations of plays....this is not the only one. Still, I feel it is an easy fix. It just in the play section. I feel at some point jdb will look at this and a few other play options all at once. I remember him saying his to do list is like 1000 things. He only reports to like ten percent of said bugs...but this is one

#1. I want the guys to cover the right Players/Zones.
#2. I want the guys to be able to be stupid and blow the play, like in Real Life.

Is there ANY chance this is an effect of #2? Because #1 requires everyone to have 100% Knowledge of the play being ran, and the Defensive Play they are in. Otherwise, there is a chance that some one makes a mistake.

So I'll have to ask... is the guy who SHOULD be in Coverage on that RB... stupid? What's his knowledge of his own assignment, and what's his knowledge of that play? Is he smart enough to know HE's the idiot that should be covering that RB?

As Bear always said... 'Can't coach stupid'.

Also, that's 230 PLAY ACTION TE.

PLAY ACTION.

I'll say it again. There is a PLAY ACTION involved.

Guess who gets fooled on Play Actions? LBs and Ss. Guess who usually cover RBs? LBs and Ss.

Is there a CHANCE that 230 PA TE actually did the job... and sucked your LB in for the RB to be open?

On the Snap #91 dives to the middle to stop the Run. 99 is frozen by the Play Action.

The Safety takes the guy cutting in. Leaving the RB all alone, because his 'Man' was frozen by Play Action.

Also, it should really be your Safety on him. He's the outside guy. The S should take him, and your LB should take the TE coming across. Instead, the S takes the TE, leaving the LB who has Priority 1 being 'stop the Run' caught looking in the back field as a Flanker runs a Flag.

Now... would you rather Play Action be a useless thing that doesn't work? Should we take Play Action out of the Game? Counters as well?

It was misdirection. Your LB fell for it. Now, if you are saying the LB always falls for it, then I'm going to need to know his Knowledge of 230 PA TE, and his Knowledge of the Defensive Play he was in.

That receiver is always uncovered by the play. It has nothing to do with the play action.
