Extremely vanilla camp for Kansas City.
1st rounder Mark Iliff (LG) came in 1 point higher than expected.
Ditto for 2nd round FS pickup Nicholas Parker
Round 3 WR James Bracken was a bit of a bust at -2 and that might make his Arrowhead career short-lived. Unless someone throws something away that reaches me, he probably stays on the roster but sees minimal action this season and gets cut in Year 2/3.
Round 4 FB Joel Dewees is the hero for Training Camp, emerging +3 and now finds himself the likely starter on the field at the position this season.
Round 5 C Dennis Creekmore came in exactly where he was expected to. I think he was an absolute steal at late Round 5 in the draft. He'll back up this season and I will cheer for his run blocking to grow toward its 100 max potential.
Rounds 6 and 7 FB Ben Perkins and WR Ronald OʻConner, respectively, each lost 5 points, which makes cutting them before they see a down of pre-season football a relative no-brainer.
So, yeah, I can't really think of a word to describe it other than vanilla. No surprised anywhere...the top picks stayed top picks, there was good and bad in the middle and the bottom rounds who were longshots opted to hit the eject button on themselves and remove the drama from the coaching staff in that regard.
